Hello Readers!
Who here doesn’t want to age beautifully into their twilight years – flaunting a robust body and mind for as long as possible!
With the rapid advancement of science in the past few decades, life expectancy has increased dramatically. Our Singapore is set to enter the category of ‘Super aged society’ by 2026!
With this increase in life expectancy, comes the associated issues of decline in physical and mental acuities leading to a natural dread of the future.
With this series, let’s embark on a journey where we provide you with easily digestible nuggets from the latest research in the field of ageing — that is applicable to our daily lives.
What we will be exploring in the coming weeks and months are articles published in top peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Advancements in science and technology got us into this predicament (even though this is a very welcome first world problem!). Let’s look at the advancements in science and technology that would ease this predicament and aid us in making our lives more enjoyable.
Science and technology will not offer a one-off panacea for all these issues. We as a society, need to come together to use these aids and initiate a ‘Community of Care’ solution.
Do let us know down here in the comments the issues you would like to be addressed in the future blog posts and discussed.
Let’s work together to make this society a better place for all ages to live in harmony.
Until next time, Cheers!
